About the Event
Dear Partners,
Africa Initiative Programme (AIP) invites partners, supporters, public health professionals, community leaders, and members of the public to join a special virtual briefing on the ongoing Ebola outbreak response in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo.
This session will provide a unique opportunity to hear directly from an AIP team member based in Bunia and a local physician working closely with affected communities. Speakers will share updates on the current situation, the impact of the outbreak on local populations, and the community-led efforts underway to prevent further transmission.
Participants will learn about AIP's rapid awareness and mobilization campaign, including the training and deployment of 40 community mobilizers who will deliver life-saving prevention messages throughout schools, community spaces, places of worship, markets, and other strategic locations. These efforts are expected to reach between 15,000 and 30,000 people across affected communities.
